Jared Leidich

DB Masonary, Concrete Mason, (Anchorage, AK) Summer 2006

Mr. Leidich moved to Alaska the summer of his sophomore year of college in hopes of working aboard a salmon fishing boat. Without finding work on a fishing boat he connected with a concrete company to work as a mason for the summer. He started working as a general laborer and soon became a hod carrier and later a forman. While in Alaska he recieved his OSHA heavy equipment liscence for the operation of a heavy boom lift, and became a proficient heavy equipment operator. After working for the summer Mr. Leidich rode the motorcycle he had purchased for working in AK over 4000 miles down the Al-Can highway and back to Boulder, CO.

Most of the summer was occupied by the construction of a strip mall outside a Carrs grocery story in the center of Anchorage at the location below.
